A rod holder keeps the rod up and your hands free while you wait for a bite. The right one depends on where you fish: a spike for soft ground, a telescopic stand for the bank, or a rack for a boat, truck or wall. We sell all three, and the sizes below come from the listings.
Which holder for the bank or beach?
A ground-spike holder. Ours has a stainless steel spike that goes into mud, sand or rock cracks, and a nylon head that turns 360 degrees and tilts 120 degrees, so you can set the angle. It folds and detaches to carry.
What is a telescopic rod stand?
A stand with a spike, an extending body and a front rest, so the rod sits above the ground. Ours has an aluminium alloy body and a rotating front rest, folds, and comes in red or blue from 1.5 to 2.3 m.
What about a boat or kayak?
A rod rack with fixed tubes. Ours is a one-piece polypropylene rack with three tubes, 33 x 28 x 7 cm, that mounts on a boat, kayak, truck or wall. Stainless steel screws and nuts are included, and it is listed for fresh and salt water.
How do I pick between them?
Soft ground or sand: a spike. Hard bank or a seat: a telescopic stand. A boat or storage: a rack. Count the rods you carry, and check the holder rests the reel side the way your rod sits.

Spikes are for soft ground, sand and rock cracks. On hard ground use a telescopic stand or a rack.
Does the rack take reels on the rods?
The tubes hold the rod butts. Check each listing for details; ours does not state a tube diameter.
