Hook sizes use two scales. For small hooks, the bigger the number, the smaller the hook: a 6 is smaller than a 2. Past size 1 the scale flips and gets bigger with a zero: 1/0 is larger than 1, and 5/0 is larger still. Below is the chart for our offset worm hooks, with the measurements printed in the listing.
What do the numbers mean?
Sizes 6, 4, 2 and 1 shrink as the number rises. Sizes 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, 4/0 and 5/0 grow as the number before the slash rises. So the run from smallest to largest is 6, 4, 2, 1, 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, 4/0, 5/0.
What are the sizes of our offset worm hooks?
From the listing chart: size 6 is 15 mm wide and 25 mm long; 4 is 16.5 and 28; 2 is 19 and 33; 1 is 22 and 36; 1/0 is 23 and 38; 2/0 is 24 and 42; 3/0 is 26 and 45; 4/0 is 30 and 50; 5/0 is 33 and 53. Sizes are measured by hand, so allow a small error.
Which size for which soft bait?
Match the hook to the bait. A small hook suits a small soft plastic, and a larger gap suits a fatter worm or craw. Check the bait next to the hook before you rig it.
What is an offset worm hook?
A hook with a bend just behind the eye so the point can lie back along a soft plastic bait. Ours are high carbon steel with a barb, sold 50 to a clear box.

Not always. Below size 1 a bigger number means a smaller hook. After 1/0 a bigger number before the slash means a bigger hook.
