A spoon is a curved piece of metal that wobbles and flashes as it falls or is retrieved. An inline spinner has a blade that spins around a wire shaft. Both are metal, cast well for their size and need no rigging. We sell a feathered spoon in three weights and an inline spinner with a single hook.
What weight of spoon should I pick?
Heavier spoons cast further and sink faster, so they suit deeper water and wind; lighter spoons flutter more on the drop. Ours comes in 5 g, 8 g and 17 g, with a feathered treble hook, in six colours. The 8 g size is 5.5 cm long.
Why does the spoon have a feather on the hook?
A feathered or dressed treble adds a soft trailing target behind the hard body and slows the fall slightly. Our spoon's white feathers are shown on every colour in the listing photos. The hook itself is a treble, so handle it with care.
When would I use an inline spinner?
An inline spinner gives steady flash and vibration on a plain straight retrieve, which makes it simple to fish. Ours is 8.2 cm and 7 g with a dotted metal blade and a single hook, in two styles. The single hook makes unhooking quicker than a treble.
Do I need a swivel with a spinner?
Spinning lures can twist line over a session, and a swivel between line and lure reduces that. A snap or swivel between line and lure reduces that; we do not carry swivels at the moment. Our blade bait, a lead-clad copper VIB in 8 to 20 g, is another metal lure that fishes on a straight retrieve or a lift and drop.

Questions people ask
Are the spoon and spinner sold singly?
Yes. Both are one lure per order; the spoon also has a set of five as an option.
What are they made of?
Both listings state metal; the spoon is described as a glittering metal body.
Which casts further?
The 17 g spoon is the heaviest, so it will cast further than the 5 g and 8 g sizes or the 7 g spinner.
